Product Description:

Thymus fragrantissimus, also known as Orange Scented Thyme, is a perennial herb that grows well in full sun and dry conditions. It has an orange scent and flavor, making it a distinctive culinary herb. The plant typically reaches a height of 25 cm and can spread up to 20 cm wide. It produces pale to deep pink flowers from June to July, which attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.123+4 

This thyme variety is drought-tolerant and suitable for xeriscaping or water-wise garden designs. It is also heat-tolerant and can be grown in containers or as a ground cover. The plant is deer-resistant and can be trimmed back if it starts to look shabby, as it regrows quickly.

Growing Instructions:

Choose a spot with full sun. Well-drained soil is a must. Sandy or rocky soils work best. If your soil retains water, mix in sand or grit to improve drainage. Space plants about 12-18 inches apart to allow airflow and prevent overcrowding. Water sparingly—Orange-Scented Thyme is drought-tolerant once established. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Thyme doesn’t require heavy feeding. A light application of compost in the spring should suffice. Trim regularly to encourage bushier growth and prevent the plant from becoming woody. After flowering, prune back to maintain its shape. In colder climates (zones 5-6), provide mulch to protect the roots during winter. It thrives in containers, making it perfect for patios or small spaces. Ideal companions for thyme include rosemary, sage, and oregano, as they share similar growing requirements.

Ships in 3" pots. You will receive a plant similar to the ones pictured, though size and fullness may vary. Please understand that shipped plants have bumpy rides. A few broken leaves or small stems are normal during shipping and are not considered damage. Broken stems can be rooted once the cut end dries to start new growth. Plants may arrive semi‑dormant, and in winter they may naturally drop a few leaves. If your plant arrives rotting or dead, we will replace it. Please contact us with photo proof within 24 hours of delivery. After 24 hours, plant care becomes the buyer’s responsibility, though we’re always happy to answer questions and help you succeed. We also add brief instructions on getting started when you open your box. We want our plant babies to have happy new homes! 🥰
