A great bushy habit and bright orange flowers that attract many butterflies make this a great annual for flower gardens or just to fill a bed with a great pollinator attracter. Relatively pest free and low maintenance once established, makes this a great warm season plant. Seeds are easily harvested from spent blooms and allows this to be replanted and enjoyed year after year.

Growing Instructions:

Full sun, low-moderate water. Grows best in full sun and in well-draining soils, that are fairly poor. Rich soil while great for producing excess foliage, creates weak stems. Pinching back growing plants is recommended for encouraging bushier habits as well. To start, either direct sow in loose soil once the threat of frost has passed lightly covering the seeds with soil, or start several weeks earlier indoors in a sunny location. Light is needed for germination so seeds should not be covered too much. Seeds should remain moist until they sprout, and then watering can be reduced to whenever the soil starts to become dry. Individual plants should be spaced 1-2 ft apart when transplanting. If moving seedlings from an indoor to an outdoor location, they should be acclimated before being exposed to direct sunlight.

Ships in 3" pots. You will receive a plant similar to the ones pictured, though size and fullness may vary. Please understand that shipped plants have bumpy rides. A few broken leaves or small stems are normal during shipping and are not considered damage. Broken stems can be rooted once the cut end dries to start new growth. Plants may arrive semi‑dormant, and in winter they may naturally drop a few leaves. If your plant arrives rotting or dead, we will replace it. Please contact us with photo proof within 24 hours of delivery. After 24 hours, plant care becomes the buyer’s responsibility, though we’re always happy to answer questions and help you succeed.
