My apologies for this inconvenience.Hoya pubicalyx 'Royal Hawaiian Purple' is a stunning cultivar of the Hoya pubicalyx, known for its beautiful, fragrant flowers and unique foliageHoya, also known as the wax plant, porcelain flower, or Indian rope plant, is a popular houseplant known for its attractive, waxy foliage and fragrant, star-shaped flowers.DescriptionHoyas have long, trailing stems that can grow up to 2-4 feet (60-90 cm) in length. The leaves are thick, fleshy, and waxy, often oval or heart-shaped, and can vary in color from dark green to variegated with white or yellow patterns. The flowers are typically star-shaped, with colors ranging from white, pink, yellow, orange, to purple. They bloom in clusters and have a sweet, pleasant fragrance1. The flowers are often described as looking like porcelain or wax, hence the common names. Hoyas can be grown as hanging plants or trained to climb on trellises or supports. They are slow-growing and can live for many years with proper care. Hoyas are native to tropical regions of Asia, including the Philippines, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and New Guinea.Care and CultivationThey thrive in humid, tropical environments and are often found growing as epiphytes on tree trunks and branches. Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can be too intense, especially in the afternoon. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a blend of orchid potting mix, perlite, pine bark, and peat moss. Prefers some humidity, reflecting its rainforest origins. Consider using a humidifier or placing the plant in a humid room, such as a bathroom, if there is enough light. Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer once a month during the growing season.Fun FactBlooming: Hoyas can take several years to bloom, and they often produce flowers on the same spurs year after year. The flowers are nocturnal, opening at night and releasing a sweet fragrance. Hoyas are relatively low-maintenance and make excellent houseplants for those who enjoy fragrant, beautiful blooms. You will receive a plant that is very similar to the plants pictured. Ships in a 3.5" pot. We put great care into packaging our plants but due to the nature of the items shipped, it is possible for leaves or stems to bend or break in transit. Please contact me within 24 hours of delivery of your plants. It is my duty to get you a live healthy plant- a few broken leaves not counting as this is normal. Growing Instructions:
Thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers temperatures between 65°F to 86°F (18°C to 30°C). It also benefits from moderate to high humidity, which can be maintained using a humidifier or a pebble tray with water. Watering requirements for Hoya lucardenasiana are moderate. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's important to ensure the soil is well-draining and to water sparingly. It does not require high heat but does not tolerate cold well. For optimal growth, use a well-draining potting mix that contains lots of organic matter such as coco coir, perlite, or vermiculite.
