Name: Finlayson’s Hoya, Veined Hoya
Scientific Name: Hoya finlaysonii
Family Name: Apocynaceae
Product Description:
Hoya finlaysonii is a vining epiphytic species prized for its dramatically veined leaves. The foliage is thick, leathery, and typically dark green with bold, contrasting silver or pale green venation that creates a striking, almost reptilian pattern. Leaves vary in shape from oval to elongated, often with a slightly rippled surface. Mature plants produce clusters of star‑shaped flowers in shades of cream to pale yellow, each with a darker corona and a sweet fragrance. Its combination of bold foliage and classic Hoya blooms makes it a collector favorite.
Origination: Native to Southeast Asia
Historic Uses: Ornamental houseplant, collector’s specimen
Height: Vining stems 3–6+ feet with support
Hardiness: USDA Zones 10–12 (grown indoors elsewhere)
Flower Color: Cream to pale yellow with darker centers
Other Names: Finlayson’s Hoya, Veined Hoya
Growing Conditions:
Grow in bright, indirect light to enhance leaf venation. Prefers airy, well‑draining soil and moderate watering—allow the top layer to dry between waterings. Appreciates humidity and warm temperatures. Provide a trellis or support for climbing. Excellent for indoor collections, hanging planters, and display shelves where its bold, veined foliage can be showcased.

Heat packs are available to purchase in our shop for cold-sensitive plants. Keep in mind some plants we carry are very tropical and even cold, not freezing, temperatures can kill them. 📌IF YOU EXPECT COLD WEATHER, PLEASE PURCHASE A HEAT PACK! 📌 These are necessary for winter shipping, so I sell them at cost. I won't refund or replace any frozen plants unless you buy one!
