❗Please Read!!❗Items cannot be shipped to CALIFORNIA or ARIZONA due to state import laws. Any orders from these states will be canceled. My apologies for this inconvenience.Hoya finlaysonii, also known as the Finlayson's Hoya, is a beautiful and unique plant known for its striking foliage and charming flowers.DescriptionHoya finlaysonii has thick, semi-succulent leaves that are light green with prominent deep emerald green venation and a deep green edge. The leaves have a cardboard-like texture and feel to them. The plant produces small clusters of creamy white flowers with maroon outer petal lobes. The flowers have a charming cinnamon-like scent and bloom in the summer months. It is a climbing epiphyte, meaning it grows on other plants or structures without harming them. It is well-suited for hanging baskets or as a climbing plant on trellises. Hoya finlaysonii is native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Borneo. It thrives in humid, tropical environments and is often found growing on tree trunks and branches in shaded areas.Care and CultivationPrefers well-draining soil rich in organic nutrients. A suitable potting mix can be made by combining bark bits, charcoal, coco-husk, or sphagnum peat moss with perlite. Requires bright shade or filtered light. It can be placed near a south-east or south-west window where it receives indirect sunlight. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Prefers high humidity, reflecting its rainforest origins. Misting with rainwater is recommended for foliar feeding. Thrives in warm temperatures above 70°F (21°C) and is not frost tolerant. Keep it indoors or in a plant house during colder months. Can be propagated through stem cuttings. Plant the cuttings in a shallow pot with a drainage hole using a cactus-specific soil mix.Hoya, also known as the wax plant, porcelain flower, or Indian rope plant, is a popular houseplant known for its attractive, waxy foliage and fragrant, star-shaped flowers.Fun FactBlooming: Hoyas can take several years to bloom, and they often produce flowers on the same spurs year after year. The flowers are nocturnal, opening at night and releasing a sweet fragrance. Hoyas are relatively low-maintenance and make excellent houseplants for those who enjoy fragrant, beautiful blooms. You will receive a plant that is very similar to the plants pictured. Ships in a 3" pot. We put great care into packaging our plants but due to the nature of the items shipped, it is possible for leaves or stems to bend or break in transit. Broken stems can be replanted after the open wound heals/dries to make two plants. Hoyas are very good at that! However, If your plant arrives rotting or dead, I will replace it for you. Please contact me within 24 hours of delivery of your plants. It is my duty to get you a live healthy plant- a few broken leaves not counting as this is normal. After 24 hours, my job is done and it is up to you (The buyer) to know how to keep it alive. I will accept some returns, however, since a shipped plant cannot be returned in its original condition, I can only offer a 50% refund. We take great care in packaging our plants and problems have always been VERY rare.   Heat packs are available for purchase with your item to use if cold weather is expected at the time of shipment. (Link to Heat Pack: https://www.ebay.com/itm/146333255563 ) Keep in mind some plants we carry are very tropical and even cold, not freezing, temperatures can kill them. I will cancel any order I feel won't make it safely to its destination without freezing. 📌IF YOU EXPECT COLD WEATHER, PLEASE PURCHASE A HEAT PACK! 📌 I don't make any profit off of them because they are a necessary shipping item in winter.  Basic care instructions are included with your order. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me for any extra advice you may require. We want you to be successful with our babies!  And if you have any questions about this item or others, please message me and I will gladly answer them.

Name: Hoya ‘Chicken Farm’

Scientific Name: Hoya sp. ‘Chicken Farm’

Family: Apocynaceae

Product Description:

Hoya ‘Chicken Farm’ is a vigorous, easy-growing tropical vine known for its thick, round-to-oval leaves heavily marked with silver speckles, giving the plant a mottled, almost “eggshell” appearance that inspired its quirky name. The foliage ranges from deep green to lighter lime tones depending on light exposure, and mature plants produce clusters of pale pink to white star-shaped flowers with a contrasting darker corona. The blooms are lightly fragrant and appear repeatedly throughout the warm season. Its combination of hardy growth, splashy foliage, and reliable flowering makes it a favorite among collectors and beginners alike.

Origination: Believed to originate from Southeast Asia; exact locality and species lineage unconfirmed

Historic Uses: Ornamental vine for indoor collections, hanging baskets, and trellised displays

Height: Vining stems can reach 8–12 feet with support

Hardiness: USDA Zones 11a–11b

Flower Color: Pale pink to white with a darker pink or red corona

Other Names: Sometimes referred to as “Chicken Farm Hoya” or “Speckled Hoya” in trade

Growing Instructions:

Hoya ‘Chicken Farm’ thrives in bright, indirect light, though it can tolerate some gentle morning sun to enhance leaf speckling. Use a well-aerated, fast-draining mix such as orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir. Water thoroughly when the top layer of soil dries, avoiding prolonged saturation. Maintain temperatures between 65–85°F and humidity above 50% for best growth. Fertilize lightly during the growing season with a balanced or high-potassium formula. Provide a trellis or allow the plant to trail naturally. Watch for mealybugs and aphids, especially on new growth.

Ships in 3.5" pots. You will receive a plant similar to the ones pictured, though size and fullness may vary. A few broken leaves or small stems are normal during shipping and are not considered damage. Broken stems can be rooted once the cut end dries to start new growth. Plants may arrive semi‑dormant, and in winter they may naturally drop a few leaves. If your plant arrives rotting or dead, we will replace it. Please contact us with photo proof within 24 hours of delivery. After 24 hours, plant care becomes the buyer’s responsibility, though we’re always happy to answer questions and help you succeed. We also add brief instructions on getting started when you open your box. We want our plant babies to have happy new homes! 🥰

Heat packs are available to purchase in our shop for cold-sensitive plants. Keep in mind some plants we carry are very tropical and even cold, not freezing, temperatures can kill them. 📌IF YOU EXPECT COLD WEATHER, PLEASE PURCHASE A HEAT PACK! 📌 These are necessary for winter shipping, so I sell them at cost. I won't refund or replace any frozen plants unless you buy one!
